26 years of bringing change to every street corner!
Who We Are
Batang Sidewalk is a children’s ministry devoted to taking the Gospel into some of the most financially challenged areas in Southern Metro Manila. What began as a simple opportunity to bless a small group of children 25 years ago has now grown into a full-fledged foundation that has transformed the lives of over 20,000 children in 92 different sites. Aside from spiritual growth, we also support their emotional, mental, and financial needs through close mentorship, leadership development, and scholarships.
What We do
Taking the Gospel to every street corner
Every Saturday our team visits 78 sites that serve over 10,000 children. We get to build and nurture relationships with the children, as well as teach them lessons from the Bible that speak hope, love, and identity into their lives.
Values development
Many children who come from low-income families are not able to get the individual attention they need for personal growth and development. We address this by giving them leadership roles, character-building responsibilities, and a community that relates with and stands with them through their struggles.
High School and College Scholarships
Only 23 percent of Filipinos were able to finish college* and this number drops even more dramatically for low-income families. (Source)
One of Batang Sidewalk’s missions is to improve this statistic. Young leaders who show great potential but lack the resources to complete their education are given scholarships, weekly allowances, and regular coaching that provide guidance, accountability and direction. Finishing their degree gives them the competence and confidence they need to become contributing members of society and lift their families out of poverty.
26 years of impact
From 1998 – 2024, Batang Sidewalk has built relationships with over 20,000 children and has grown, trained, and mentored over a hundred leaders.
Since we started our sponsorship program in 2003, 93 leaders have been given university scholarships in different schools. 70 leaders have graduated and are now gainfully employed.
Our program has been adopted by different churches in Antipolo, Isabela, Cebu, Bacolod, Bicol, Davao, and many other places within the nation. We have also conducted training to replicate the Sidewalk program in Myanmar.
As of 2024, 150 parents regularly attend the bible studies in the communities
Due to great demand, we have started our own Sidewalk church service within Lighthouse Community Church. Over 200 people attend the service, most of whom are the families of the children Sidewalk has built relationships with through the years.
How You can Help
1. ADOPT A SITE
Our team currently visits 78 sites every Saturday. There is an opportunity to expand to over a dozen more locations, but this growth comes at a cost and will only possible if it is financially sustainable.
Adopt a site and support it:
- Monthly: P1,500
- Quarterly: P5,500
- Annually: P17,000
2. SPONSOR A STUDENT LEADER
Our leaders have been chosen from the thousands who come from low-income families. These are the ones who have embraced their role in Batang Sidewalk’s mission and have shown promise and commitment to the building of their future. With just 50,000 php a year, you can send a leader to school and directly help in taking them and their family out of poverty.
3. CELEBRATE SPECIAL DAYS AT SIDEWALK

We invite you to hold your special event in one of our sites and bring joy to the lives of children.
